What shall I do with this stump?

    I would plant it up with some small growing rockery type plants. Add lots of grit to the soil and you are good to go.

  • I'd worried about Honey Fungus taking hold if it's left in.  The previous owner of my property left an Oak stump and we have had HF ever since.

    You could build a raised bed around it and it would be hidden under the soil.
  • My son and I put some soil around and in the stump and I planted some plants from around the garden-primroses, cyclamen, ferns, and a little white alpine plant with a few stumps as broken pots. It looks ok and will look a lot better when I’ve put more in! I’m tempted to make it a little bigger. Thanks for everyone’s advice 
  • Yes Pete8, I fell in love with the sumpery at Arundel Castle, then discovered it costs £100 plus to buy stumps even on e bay, I would make it into a feature.
