    I agree, take very careful note of the instructions. Write them down, even, so you can both be clear on the task at hand. The frustrations in my garden are mostly due to workmen doing things I didn't ask for.

    Check out West Country garden pro on utube. He tells you very clearly how he prices up a job and how he works to maintain a more regular  income.  Incidently,  I believe he is also in the Taunton area.

    Have though about a Home Agency like Age concern and under take gardening for the Elderly / disabled , usely simple jobs 
    Yes I would consider a gardener using some of my tools
