Pseudoacacia invaision

Please help, my garden is being taken over by suckers from the Pseudoacacia "Lace Lady". Seven years ago I planted this tree in my garden in Shropshire and it has been beautiful, but last year it became too big and started shooting up suckers in my border so I cut it down to about two foot so that i could lever it out. This year I have suckers all over the lawn and in the borders. I have tried the strongest weed killer available and been digging the lawn up to pull the roots out but they are coming up even more all over the garden. can anyone help.

It must have been very happy in your garden and doesn't want to leave.
The suckers on the lawn will get mowed I imagine which will weaken them.
The suckers that appear in the borders - if you can scrape back soil to where the sucker is attached to the root, pull the sucker off by stripping it away from the root, then it's unlikely to grow back.
It may take a while, but you'll get fewer suckers appearing and then none at all.
If you just cut the sucker off at the root, multiple suckers will re-grow.
That's the only method I know
    Others may have easier ideas
    Good luck

Did you get the stump out?  If not, that's probably worth a try, then you might be able to attack what's left of the roots from the stump end.
