Salvias please

Hi all can anyone recommend a good supplier of salvias? Online preferably. I want some specific colours. Don't mind paying a bit extra for healthy plants of a decent size. Hope you can help. Thanks

    Try asking on the seed and plant swap thread . they're so easy from cuttings. You might find someone with spares.

    Good idea hosta, planning a monochrome ( plus green obviously) area on the patio as my white only pots looked so good this year wanted to branch out a bit, thinking white salvias and salvia discolor too, also want some pale pink as only my hot pink seemed to have survived the beast from the east! I hadn't realised people would send cuttings I am more than happy to pay

    maybe not cuttings per se ,I don't think they'd last in the post, but I was thinking when they'be been potted on a bit.

    I took some salvia cuttings a few weeks ago and they've rooted already. Still plenty of time to take some. Buy nice bushy plants, with NOT many flowers. It's the young , flower free, shoots you want. You'll have tons by next year.

    Hubby is taking me next week so I will follow your advice hosta hoping for a good display next year.

    Butting in here with a different salvia question.  In my last garden my pineapple sage would take forever to reach the flowering stage and always just in time for the first frosts when it would have to go into shelter.

    Doesn't seem to be in any hurry to flower here either despite the greater warmth and levels of sunshine.   Do I have a duffer or are they all this reluctant?

    As much as I hate disagreeing with you, I take no notice if the bits have flowers on, I just pick them off, they root just the same.

    Will definitely send you some hosta if I can work out a good way to post plants? Maybe I will hold onto the packaging from my internet purchases.
