2nd Flowering of Lavender Bush

NewBoy2NewBoy2 Posts: 1,813
This years stems are about 18 inches long and have lost their purple heads

At there base is a new set of greenery showing about 3 inches long.

Have I just not noticed this before or is something new because of our 50 days of heat and no rain

Each summer after flowering you need to trim the flower stems right down and clip the shrub ... not into the old growth but removing an inch or so of the 'greenery' ... then the new growth that you're seeing now will replace it and it'll prevent the shrub from becoming leggy.
