We have a pink flowering iceberg sedum in our garden - yes they do attract the bees at this time of year when they begin to flower - which is great but they aren't strictly perennial - they die down after flowering and return again next Spring/Summer. Easy to care for - I just trim my sedum once around June/July time so that the plant thickens up before flowering.
They're great plants D.Harry, and I have them in spots that shouldn't really suit them - north wast facing [no sun till later in the day] and wet soil. They look good right now and the bees do love them. I think GD did mean evergreen! They start into growth quite early on, so good value. The slugs like them though, but they're so easy to propagate as well. I bought one plant may years ago, and I have several large clumps of it, just by pulling bits off and growing them on. I think you could do worse than have a white heather with them. You'll need to sport a kilt when gardening of course.... If you plant both types [depending on your soil] you can extend the season. The Callunas flower summer into autumn, and the Ericas are winter flowering. The Callunas need an acid soil, but the Ericas aren't bothered,so they're very useful. You could have pinky, purple ones too, to tie in with the sedums.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
