Planting out autumn perennials - how big do they need to be?

    Lyn  - I'm off in 5 minutes to buy a large heuchera to split for one of my wall baskets :D
     
    B3 - it depends which perennials you're getting. Things like the above mentioned heucheras, for instance, will survive anything and everything outside over winter - even in small pots.
    I don't really grow much that's too blousy and flimsy because they just don't do well here. It all comes down to what room you have and what you want to grow though.
    I'm not very patient to grow stuff from seed, but I do quite a few cuttings and divisions. I'm now overrun with certain things though! :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I'm always a bit nervous about dividing my plants as I'm afraid I'll lose the lot.
    That being said, it's never happened.
