What to do next?

allyBBallyBB Posts: 28
Hi,

I planted some lily bulbs few months ago, they have been growing well from the beginning, then it started to grow something at the top, I thought they were flowers, but then developed some root like stuff, see photo.

I don't think I will get any flowers this year for this plant, disappointed.
What shoud I do next?

Can we see a photo. Probably a bit late planting for flowers this year.

They are bulblets, you can take them off and plant them up. It takes a few years before they get big enough to flower though.

The lilies are finished for the year. Don't water them, let the tops go dry and then store them for next year.

Yes, I found it odd too.
I thought at least I got some flowers this year before they grow bulblets as it is not an old plant, but...

    Alright.
Not to water them, do you mean not even once a few weeks until next year?
