Blackthorn from cuttings

has anyone grown a blackthorn tree from cuttings? If so how did you do it and what time of year did you do it?

    Never from cuttings but have had success from seed I just squash the hips put them on top of a pot of garden soil tuck them somewhere out of the way so they get all the weather rain, frost, snow etc and in the spring I have seedlings  :)   I pot these on into 1Lt pots of garden soil and plant out in the autumn and they grow like mad.

    The way blackthorn suckers I'd go that way and dig some up.  

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
