Is this corn ready?

The right one feels fat and bumpy , is it worth perling naba the leaves to check?

    That is what I do. I peel the leaves back carefully to see if the kernels look full and yellow. If they are still small and white, smooth them back again.

    Looks great to me.  Sweetcorn for supper hungry

    What variety is it?   We're eating Swift and the moment and it is sooooooo delicious!!!

    swift! First tkme growing it, just three plants and one is a little strange! We can have it for tea, yippee! My sim forsndo like most of the stuff I can grow but he is a fan of sweetcorn.

    You'll grow a lot more next year ... we've got over 20 plants and each has at least two cobs ... and there's only two of us  B)

    Swift germination was 100% this year for me ... with a little bit of bottom heat. Marvellous 🙂

    What's the best way to cook them? Judging by the above photos, ours look almost ready too, but I haven't grown them before.

    Peel them and plunge in boiling salted water for 8-10 mins. Take out, drain and serve with butter and black pepper. 

    Or peel, cut into halves so you have ‘short cobs’ smother with butter and roast around a roasting chicken for the last half hour’s cooking time. 

    Both delicious. 😋

    Yum! We microwaved for five minutes as there wasn't a clran psn and slathered in buttet
