So do I ... if you have children or pets I'd keep them away from that wall. It sounds potentially dangerous.

I would agree with the other posts its a potential danger. A single skin should not be too high, at lot of advise would say no more than 1,450mm for a single skin (assuming it was not a retaining wall.) At 6ft that's way above that.
