Just came across these today... I want!

Anyone else have, or had, experience with these?

    My experience is that they come up yellow in Spring, then come up in the red/yellow colour in July /August. They don't get a chance to bloom if slugs and snails inhabit the garden without being dealt with though, as they enjoy living in and eating the buds.

    I have a few. They like deep, rich soil and look sad and straggly when not in flower so need to be 'back of the border' plants. There are jade green and white ones, yellow ones and the orange shades like in your pic.

    Mine flowered for the first time this spring after three years one only had one flower spike about 1Mt tall the other plant had four flower spikes about 60cm all yellow at the base up to orange at the top.

    Really easy to grow.

    I like them, some are evergreen - semi evergreen - deciduous, the deciduous are more prone to slug damage when the new shoots emerge in spring. I have three types - Tawny King - Timothy and a unknown cheap plant from the garden centre.

    Tawny King this year.

    I have tried growing them in my clay soil, but although they grew well enough they produced few flowers, so you need to give them the right soil.

    I have two different varieties in pots and whilst one flowered the other developed flower buds but got eaten. Searched on Google to find its slugs and snails which is very frustrating

    I used to like them, went through a spell of hating them (mainly for the look of the foliage after flowering, and the fact that K. 'Mango Popsicle' disappeared on my clay soil in Bristol). But I'm coming back around, K. 'Tawny King' is just beautiful.

    I like them. Here's a not particularly great photo of a couple of mine from earlier in the year! They fill a nice narrow gap... I think they look great when offset with some dark foliage and grass, although the lysmachia in the middle hadn't grown enough when I took this pic.

    I also grow Mango Popsicle and live in the South East with a stoney, free draining soil and hot summers (35+ the last 7 days). Whilst these are not its ideal growing conditions it does well for me. I also have 'Green Jade' which flowers towards the end of the summer and is a good counterpoint to asters, rudbeckias and other late season perennials.
