Good morning!

Please could you help me identify the following plants:

1) This is growing in partial shade, not looking happy (was previously surrounded by mildew infested asters which were taking over the bed and have been pulled out)

2) This shrub is growing around a tree, in shade:

3) This was just randomly growing - a nice vibrant green colour so I thought i would ask!

Thank you!

    Good morning sabeeha
    1 is Alchemilla mollis
2 Forsythia, best pruned by removing some of the old stems completely and leaving the rest alone
    3 one of the Hypericums

    1.  Alchemilla mollis aka Lady's Mantle ... a pretty plant, frothy acid green flowers very useful in flower arrangements ... cut it hard back after flowering (should've been earlier but you can do it now) removing most of the leaves and you should get another crop of frilly glaucus leaves that hold the raindrops like pearls ... beautiful.

    2.  Forsythia ... yellow flowers in spring ... pretty dull the rest of the time.

and to the left in the second forsythia pic is a sedum coming into flower ... great for bees and butterflies.

    3.  One of the hypericums ... suckering groundcover shrubby sort of thing.  Yellow flowers in spring red/black berries in autumn.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
