Organic No-Till Gardening

Hello everyone, iv stumbled across Organic gardening and all the benefits that come with it!
iv been reading about mycorrhizal fungal and how it works together with plants roots systems to make said plant able to obtain more nutrients from deeper within the earth.

How it works is the mycorrhizae is born under the soil and attaches itself to nearby roots from other pants which in turn becomes a "secondary" root system, helping the plant thrive by pulling nutrition from the surrounding earth and feeding it to the roots of said plant.

The reason the mycorrhizal fungi does this is because it knows the plant releases sugars out through its roots, in turn, feeding the fungi... this is why many people believe that molasses helps the garden, when really this would only be true in an organic garden where you feed the soil and not your plants, feeding the soil means feeding the many microorganisms that live in the soil so that they can feed your plants... "it knows the plant releases sugars out through its roots" so watering the soil with a solution of molasses and water will be giving the fungi and other organisms a nice "treat" or boost in nutrition...

Is "organic gardening" a matter of FACT or OPINION?
  • organic gardening, in my opinion, is a fact...

There is no more natural organic way to grow than this.
No need for bottled fertilizers and nutrients, just the use of cover crops, worms,  microorganisms and other beneficial life that helps keep the mini eco-system alive

I think most of us know about the benifcial fungi in our soils, others get sucked in by the sales talk on gardening programmes and go out and buy it.

Freddy, have you watched a programme called Deep Down and Dirty, you may learn a few tips from that. I think you can still download if from the internet.

  • I will certainly give it a watch Lyn :) thank you
  • organic is the most fun, because the challenge is greater, and the results are more varied, and the need for understanding is higher. That for me is the best part, when you have tried a few things, finally understand how to implement a solution, and turn a disaster into a result. The rest is just "cheating". (I still cheat sometimes myself but try not to. . . ) Good on you Freddy.
Grow it yourself, it's worth it in the end. . .
