Wisteria

having tried many times to grow a wisteria from a much loved ancient family one I have succeeded. My biggest concern was wether it would flower. Now in August I have my first flower, very very excited but I can’t find anywhere that this is normal for Mid August and that now is the time to prune... any ideas please on how I should care for my new plant it is only a year old. Thank you for any advice.

    Well done.

Ours are in their third or fourth flush.  It's been a good hot year for wisteria flowering.   If yours have soft, whippy stems stretching out then prune back to shorten them and concentrate energy and remove the flowers when they go over.
