A very nice birthday present - Crinums!

InglezinhoInglezinho Posts: 568
I just received a very nice birthday present. 3 large bulbs of Crinum powelli 'Alba'!
My only problem with them is, it is the wrong time of year.... they have no top growth - maybe they have been kept in cold storage - though appear perfectly healthy. I have three options:
1. Plant them out - surely it is too late.
2. Pot them up and put them in the greenhouse. This can be heated in v cold weather.
3. Take them back with me to Brazil, when I go in October.

3. Is the obvious option but involves smuggling.............

Love to hear your views.

    I would go for 2.

I think 2  is the only option .as if you tried smuggling them in  ok I suppose but if you get caught your lose them anyway.not sure about the customs , what are the laws in Brazil .  Have sent you a pm.

Happy Birthday! What a lovely present even with a dilemma.
