It looks very similar to a Convolvulus I have growing but I could be quite wrong. There will be someone out there who will know for certain what it is.

It looks a bit like a pink or carnation plant.

Could we have a photo of the whole plant? :)
    East Anglia
  • Definitely not a pink or carnation - leaves are softer and not leathery like a pink .
Also not a convolvulus cneorum in - I've got that one! The flowers are tiny about the size of a forget me not, and arranged either side of the stem to form a spike.
The leaves are more like an artemisia.
Can't photograph the whole plant, sorry.
I just picked a couple of sprigs in the hope that it might root in water on the windowsill.
    I really like it.

    One of the Leptospermums?

I think this plant might be Gomphostigma Virgatum, or Otter bush. Quite a rare plant here in the UK. Likely to be frost hardy if given the right conditions. Prefers to be in damp but free draining soils.
  • Borderline - you are brilliant!
    Thats what it is!
Thank you. Now let’s see if I can get it rooted.
  • One of the gomphostigma already has decent roots - and the others are looking promising!
so pleased. Thanks Borderline for identifying this lovely little thing.

I’m glad it’s rooting for you Flowerlady3. I read a bit about them a few days ago. Apparently they root/propagate very well and an ideal plant for flower arranging. Sounds like a great all-round plant to have. Good luck with it.
