Always have lots of birds, probably because house backs on to woodland. Feeders are filled daily and the blackbirds will soon be at the pyracantha and holly berries.
Mercifully , plenty here. Mrs Mallard had 4 chicks last week, but only one left. The swallows/housemartins/ swifts were still dipping for water over the lake yesterday and my bird feeders are topped up at least once a day. Long may it continue.
Hostafan - so YOU have all the birds - what a lot of activity on your feeders and surrounds. We are blessed with quite a few birds but always welcome more. It looks like you have the perfect surroundings to encourage them into your garden. We try to keep some "wild" areas to attract them here - ivy growing over the wall, some long grass, a pond and trees. We are lucky to have a big garden but the cat does make himself known to them too, he can be a pest at times.
We have quite a few Sparrow Hawks this way too as we are on the edge of woodland. As a result we hang most of the bird feeders under trees so the smaller birds are somewhat protected from the SH's - at least when feeding.
We have a huge variety of birds along the sea shore, but in our garden we are quite restricted here. However I too would like to see this beauty in my garden - we have kestrels sometimes, buzzards overhead too but the garden birds are basic although I love them all too - especially the goldfinches.
I have to say, that one had his eye on some sparrows which had dived under the pots of agapanthus. I took that photo from the stool in the kitchen where I'm sitting now, at my laptop. The camera was beside me so I got it through the open door, then gently shooed it off.

Just now.
I even have a respect , if not a love of this one.
