What can you do now ro get ready for next year

This  year it's our first year we already havest twice peas and yellow and green beans

    I'm planning my spring bulb buying,and looking at the best places in the garden for them.Probably where the Hostas will have died down!

    Definitely start window shopping for spring bulbs, one of the best investments you can make in a garden.  If you leave a few peas and beans on the plants until the pods are really dry and brittle, you can keep them to sow next so you needn't buy them.  If you have room, build or buy a compost bin, or two if possible,  and start filling them.  Buy some wire or plastic mesh to make a cylinder ready to fill with fallen leaves in the autumn. A year later you'll have leaf mould to use as a soil improver.

    Planted pansies/violas today that will take over from the ones tiring from last year.
