Suggestions on late summer/Autumn interest

We have this amazing huge bleeding heart which looks amazing during summer and an ornamental rhubarb that again looks amazing but when They die back leaves us with a huge blank space. We’re going to plant alliums and spring bulbs for early interest round their but any suggestions on plants I could put in to take over when these start to die back.

    Will they be alright coming through the bleeding heart?

    Maybe not they are pretty vigorous. Would something in a pot work better? Than once it has flowered you could move it out of the way? Just a thought.

    Autumn scented stocks and wall flowers can be good. They reflower again in the spring.

    I think something in a pot might be easier to manage, what about Rudbekia "Goldsterm" pretty yellow daisy like flowers, good for bees/butterflies and a perennial. Could look spectacular in a bright blue pot, but put it into a black plastic pot inside the blue one. Then, when that's gone over, put a hellebore in to take you through the winter.

    That area doesn't look big. What about Hesperantha Coccinea 'Major.' They can really flower up to November if conditions suit.

    Hardy chrysanthemum. Mine flowers well in to November unless we get an early hard frost
