What are these two plants

ive recently moved to a new house,I know quite a lot of plants but haven’t got a clue what these two are.The second foto is a ground cover that creeps and tries to root down off of the runners.Am thinking I might remove this as it seems quite thuggish. The second is a lovely flower.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The rubus is lovely if you can plant it on the top of a wall and let is trail down; also produces an usual fruit, bit like a raspberry.

I'd only plant rubus tricolor if you have a vast area of ground to cover. It's a thug IMHO.
    Devon.
  • I did think it might be,the previous owners of the house were here four years and didn’t garden other than mowing the grass and consequently all beds are rock hard and overgrown so we are gradually digging them over and I’m trying to identify plants as I go.
