Dying camellia

i had my camellia planted in an area that was getting literally no sun. Things were looking dire, the leaves were pale and droopy (dead), unopened flower buds that had turned brown etc etc.. I thought i had better do something, hoping I had caught it in time so yesterday I dug it out and potted it with a premium potting mix, added some fertiliser and a good drink and put the pot in an area with more sun. Most of the branches are dry and woody, but I scraped the base of the trunk/body and there is green. Have I done enough to save it? How much sun does it require? It is almost the end of winter here, should i be pruning it?

Camellias ' like Rhododendrons & Pieris etc. appreciate moist , cool and damp semi-shaded positions in a neutral to acidic soil ; not always easy to attain .

If your plant is showing 'green' near the base there is a chance it will regenerate .
