The Sprite in one flower bed survived although they are still small plants, but the ones in the main bed didn’t survive. The tiny Lavender ones did though. I will save more Sprite seeds if they ripen now and grow some more.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
@Lyn "The tiny Lavender ones" ... which ones are these, please?
I'm looking for some that are truly blue and don't have a tendency to pink. Does anyone know if Phlox paniculata 'Blue Paradise' have an underlying pink/violet undertow?
@Mark56 I’ve just had a look at the Kudos series on the Terranova website, they look fantastic - I see they claim Kudos Red stays red in the sun - I might try that given so many of the reds in my so-called hot border turn pink. Do you have that one?
For that reason, like Fire, I’m trying to avoid anything that has a hint of pink so want more a Cadbury’s dairy milk blueish purple rather than a pinky purple to replace BA, if such a thing exists. Blue Fortune and the like look a bit too pastel for me.
I am totally getting the Agastache bug!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I love them too. I first bought Black Adder in a local GC. The stems were almost black and the flowers very deep blue. I took plenty of cuttings, but they did not look as blue the following year and the stems were just green.
Blue Fortune is quite blue and I've grown Astello Indigo too this year (all from seed). Now they're planted out and flowering I can't see much difference between them. From those I've grown, BA seems to be the bluest
Mr Fothergills & Sarah Raven sell the Kudos variety
PS Photo was from 2014 - there's no Himalayan Balsam in my garden any more
