Dried blanket weed as plant feed.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, has anyone tried to use dried blanket weed as a plant feed?
I've got a pond reproduces a lot of it and I'd like to find a better use than just composting it.

I don't think it's something you can make tea out of (like nettle tea and comfrey tea plant food), so I think the best place for it is the compost bin.
Like Lantana, I often use it direct from the pond as a mulch around plants (after letting the wee beasties crawl out) - just coz I can't be bothered to take it up to the compost bin
