Curly leafed seaside perenial, ident.

Saw this on Worthing seafront yesterday.  Didn't take a picture, assumed it was a euonymus, but not so sure.  It had leaves that appeared to come out radially, a bit pieris like, but with fatter and more oblong leaves with a slight curl in them.  A shoulder high shrub on a planted area on the beach.  Green. Is that clue enough for an ident?

Ah, the Worthing seafront, its pier, its pebble beach, its amusements... Brings back pleasant memories of the 1960s when I would roam the coast from Bognor Regis to Brighton as a student, officially to improve my knowledge of the English language. And no, I won't give more details of the unofficial activities. ;)

Anyway, a photo would greatly help us to ID your curly-leafed seaside bush.

The 'curly leaves' have me wondering if it might be a pittosporum ❓

Quite right! Then my ID will be ... it's a green bushy plant. Hoping that's not too elitist. ;)

That's a good lead.  It was a bit like the Cheesewood.  That really helps, will go hunting.  Sadly I don't carry a camera at all times, otherwise I would have snapped a pic.
