What are these little blighters?

Pete.8Pete.8 Posts: 11,340
I've noticed nibble marks on some of my cue's, which I suspect are slugs.
But I also see a lot of these beetles on the cucumbers too.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Slug damage?

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thanks guys - do you think they're responsible for the nibbles on my cucumbers or is it slugs?

  • I think that maybe it is the bugs, might be a small slug if you can go out in the evening and have a look around if it is slugs your probably catch them at it.

Thanks HH I've checked before for slugs, but maybe they saw me coming and scarpered
But there are trails on the windows and paving so it could be either bugs or slugs I guess
I'll put down a few pellets and see if that makes any difference

The marks look too delicate for mice.

I don't think mices either, I think probably slugs - they're desperate in this weather (or up until today..)
I found a tomato just touching the soil, the skin and flesh had been eaten away from just the bottom half leaving the pulp and seeds visible through an opaque membrane - weirdly quite pretty
