Dwarf/Patio Plum Trees

Hi All

Any suggestions on the above? When do they normally start to produce fruit? Most aren't self-fertile, as I understand it, so would require a second tree.

I'd be looking at a couple that grow no more than about 1.8m and remain fairly upright/compact.

Else, if there might be some alternative suggestions e.g. nectarines etc, I'd also be interested. Looking for something that has an impressive spring blossom and some tasty fruits!

Sorry Raspberry Killer I forgot to tell you that if you decide to purchase one just mention my name  you could get 15% off your purchase
  • Thanks Peter, very kind... Believe it or not, however, I already have a Porthos! Think I also bought it from Blooming Direct  B)

We can compare notes on how well they fair! I wasn't sure (still not) what the difference is between it at the Athos bush? Mine appears to be growing really well - looks very healthy and strong.

hey guys, any news on your cherry bushes? It is roughly cherry blossom time. Any sight of cherries on your bushes? I have added a cherry bush to my collection too but too small for any fruit this year. Based on the size of the roots compared to the growth on top it looks like this bush will need a lot of root space. What's your experience so far?

Might not be a good year to ask about fruit as we had a few nights of frost just at the wrong time @mrtjforman so I am waiting to see on my new cherry tree.

sry to hear purple. I am in Coventry so always a bit milder here than other parts of the country. I had to move my lupins today I was worried all my tiny cherries were going to be blown off. Storm Hannah is it? Branches just about hanging on still.
Crazy weather. I was going to repair my fence but after the beautiful easter heatwave the weather has turned pants again.
This year is going to be my biggest cherry harvest anyway it seems. Third year for most my varieties so harvests have been small so far. Can't tell how many cherries on the sunburst are going to form yet but that tree had so many blossoms this year.
