No one has suggested the OP should dig up their garden. They have suggested that he seeks advice from the experts.

Being vigilant and aware is of no use if you do nothing. 😕

Here in East Anglia we lost all our elms and now our ash trees are dying.

Now at last there are scientists researching these diseases ... failing to seek and take their advice seems to me to be irresponsible at the very least. ☹️

I am afraid that the chance of getting some useful advice at your local GC, is less than zero.
it is important not to over react, but equally important to react appropriately. Our trees have never been more under threat than they are now.
Please show photos and then take the action that @pansyface has suggested.
Un fortunately for reasons that are not clear MMM. seems to have taken against any advice offered by people with any knowledge, on any garden related issue.

    Loving the flying ferret's fart.
I shall try and use that phrase regularly.

Not sure whether anyone else agrees, this poster is causing trouble on every thread she posts on.

I’m just unsure of the wisdom of seeking authoritative horticultural advice on trees from Doityourself.com rather than the Forestry Comission 😕
