Myrtle scrub

I have a Myrtle scrub with woody stems is it possible to prune it as a cloud.

    I have no idea, but without a photo, anyone who does know will probably need to know what it looks like

    You can do that with these shrubs. I recommend after flowering has finished.

    Make sure you are keeping the shrub growing in full sun to keep the growth habit more compact and less elongated with the branching.

    Well i have gone and pruned my Myrtle it will be a couple of years before it will look anything. My question is i used a copper rod bent and attached to the stems for support while the stems strengthen and thicken, will the copper effect the plant. James.

    Bonsai trainers use wire, and it doesn't seem to cause damage. If you don't get an answer here you might try a bonsai group and ask what they use
