Bold patches in Lawn

Hi Everyone,

Having great problems with bold patches in my lawn (originally turf put down 3 years ago).
Whats the best tips? 

I've forked up/ removed the dead grass and sown grass seeds. Put a layer of top soil, watered and nothing? 

Please help  :/

    I'd wait until this dry spell is well and truly over before trying to sort it.

    September is (usually) the best month for sowing grass seed  :)

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Yes do not panic. I am constantly repairing badger damaged lawns...... but not complaining. You are doing things correctly. The only slight difference to that which I do to repair the lawn is that I mix the seed with the compost before filling in the hole/ bald patch. It is like a divot filling mix they use at the golf club. Try not to mow for several weeks after the seeds germinate.
    But the dry weather and the wind make the task impossible at the moment.

    Keep the patches well watered. The seed may come up. If not resow in September when it is a lot wetter, normally.
