Please ID this Tree/Shrub

Hello
I found this attractive shrub with reddish leaves growing on an embankment near my home and have taken a cutting, which after many weeks has now taken root. So I though it might a good time to identify the plant, please could someone help...

Thanks for looking :-)
Robin

That looks like a Cotinus 🙂

I might go further and suggest C. Royal Purple.

Congratulations, that has a reputation for being difficult to root from cuttings

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • Thank you, I guessed it might be a difficult one to root!

I took 4 cuttings last year and none survived, so not to be discouraged I took another 4 this year and after many weeks one of them now has a green shoot  :)

Don't be in too much of a hurry to pot it on ... wait until you see roots at the bottom of the pot  :)
