Hi, can someone id this please, I need to decide whether to dig up or leave this autumn so id and advice welcome. Thankyou

    It looks like a drought stricken fargesia  murielae. I'm not 100% sure though.
    Whatever it is, give it lots of water until you decide if it's staying or going.

    I would agree with hostafan1, I have one that is suffering from lack of water and it looks just like yours.

    Yes - I have a tall clump of that and it was one of the first things to wilt in the heat -never watered them until this year. They are thirsty plants. The Geraniums look healthy though. 
    My garden and I live in South Wales.

    Thanks, I split that geranium into 3 in spring and just popped them there until I decide on their new permanent home they flowered and then were cut back about a month ago. Looks like their thriving in this area so I might transplant them around a tall birdbath that is just out of site on the pic (another little problem solved lol). Can I ask how tall your clump is, just wondering how tall it will get.

    A different clump that I have planted in the ground is about 8ft tall but my drought stricken plant in a container is only about 3 ft at the moment (it was a rescue from my sisters garden clear out but it's origins are the same as the 8ft plant)
