My French lavender from seeds

BerkleyBerkley Posts: 431
I am very pleased with these little plants, grown from "freebie" seeds .... I understand I can either put them out in to the garden this Autumn (with cloche protection) or overwinter them inside. I would like to keep them in my garage (near a large window) but am wondering how often I will need to water them before I put them out in the garden next Spring. They are in a free-draining compost of multi purpose, vermiculite and sand. Will I need to pot them on?

French Lavender are more tender than the standard angustifolia types, so I would overwinter in a cold frame to give them more protection.  They need to be damp, but not sodden overwinter.
  • Well done Berkley. I tried to grow lavender from seed once but nothing happened 😫
