Are these weeds?

Hello again :)

These have sprung up between some pavers - a whole line of them (same plant).

Are they weeds?

They look very weedy, apart from the pretty flowers - and they all seem of the same type so was unsure.

    The one with the pinky-red flower and blue-ish leaves is red valerian (Centranthus ruber).  I'm not sure that the rest is the same though.

    I think the smaller ones may be a kind of willowherb which are also infamous for growing in cracks and crevices.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Rather than willowherb I think they look like aster although not in bloom yet. (see page 11 of Insects of the day where there are some in bloom)

    I wondered about willowherb (I think I see some long thin reddish seed pods in the middle of the picture).
