Damson tree , time to cut my losses?

Hi, I have a damson tree which I planted around 10 years ago. It has become established and looks healthy yet in all this time it has only had 1 year when its had a decent crop . This year is another poor year with perhaps 20 fruit . Is there anything I can do to get a better crop or should I pull it up and try a new tree?

Any other plums, damsons, gauges etc growing nearby? If not, yield should increase by planting a pollination partner. Here's a list of partners suitable for Damson 'Merryweather':
