Apparently they love peanuts so you could try putting some down near where they enter your garden so they don't venture further in or else on your patio so they can eat without digging and you can have the pleasure of watching.
Maybe a water scarecrow would work too. Google it for info and suppliers.

They are really helpful ideas. Will be putting nuts out for sure tonight. I've never seen a water scarecrow so will do some research. I've been given lots of really good ideas to try. Hopefully, will not give up on my garden and get some results. Thanks
I wonder if it is the result of the drought/badgers searching further in order to find worms and a food source. The month by month badger calendar suggests this and it would coincide with them trashing the lawn for the past few months. Do you have a pond?
Hi mark. No pond - would this help or make things worse with damper conditions?? I'm going to try with peanuts tonight and perhaps look into the idea of a scarecrow. I'm also going to look where theyrth coming in and try to leave food close by, perhaps this will deter the digging. Would the badger calendar suggest when they're likely to stop? Thanks for advice.
