I personally prefer the Latin or Greek name. I don't find them difficult to remember and it's easier to be specific about the plant you want, common names can be confusing I find. However it's entirely down to individual choice and I would not criticise anyone for using common names. Brexit is another matter but I won't go into that. Happy Gardening!
If I went to kind of garden centre that puts its plants in alphabetical order, and you can buy them when they're not even in full bloom,I would probably be looking for a specific plant and I would expect to see the Latin names.
If I went to a chain GC to buy some bedding plants or whatever, I would just be surfing the plants to see what I liked the look of, and the name wouldn't much matter to me. The main thing I would read on the label would be the ideal growing conditions. Although they all seem to say sun/partial shade; moist free draining soil these days (oxymoron if you ask me!).
