Discovered under some old wood large slug-like “thing” with prominent eye-like markings.

  Could be a hawkmoth or pussmoth  caterpillar getting ready to pupate.

  It's the little box with a mountain picture in it.
  Sounds as if it might be a hawkmoth caterpillar.  

  Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
