Wilting Sambucus Nigra

Morning, just wondering if anyone can help me...have just moved my Sambucus Nigra (had no choice but to move it now as re-designing an area) it is only a couple of years old and had finished flowering, however, it is really wilting and looks very sad. Have kept it well watered. Should I prune back or leave it struggle? Would appreciate advice. Thanks

    When you moved it many of the tiny roots that provide the plant with water will be damaged and they can no longer get enough water to the leaves. It's the water in the leaves that keeps them turgid. Without water the leaves will droop especially in this mad weather. I'd suggest cutting it back quite a bit. You'll loose flowers for next year, but it'll grow quickly when established again

    I agree with @Pete8 ... I'd cut it back quite hard so it can concentrate on getting the roots re-established without having to struggle to maintain the foliage, especially in this heat. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
