    Hi Karen  :)
I find they do better if I keep them in pots and grow them on to a good size before planting them out in the garden. That way they seem better able to shrug off the slug and snail attacks.

  • I completely agree, they do much better if planted out in the garden after they are further on. I always put some slug pellets around mine (controversial I know) and I keep an eye out for pests as mine always used to get aphids and mildew.

Once they are in the garden you’ll never be rid of them, I try each year to dig out the little ones, the main plants seem to go down and attached themselves to Australia.

Do they improve as they mature?........I grew a few from seed last year and am somewhat disappointed with them
