"It seems like an awful waste of energy, but I suppose they know what they're doing."
I have stopped watching butterflies, I get too exhausted. I invite them the sit down and smell the roses, but no, they just flutter, continuously. Nothing else seems to do this (apart from swifts, maybe). It must cost so much to flap those big wings. I suppose moths and butterflies emerge, mate, lay eggs and die in such a short time that they can't afford to take a breather. I never really appreciated the phrase "social butterfly" until now.
I can't understand how butterflies work. Some of them even migrate over long distances. How is that possible when you're just a couple of scraps of paper?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LdK6JQUNyw If it sounds a bit like this whistling frog then I have one too. No trilling, no warbling just a straight true note. No idea what it is but it sounds a bit like a referee whistle.
No mine was more measured, at regular intervals and vaguely plaintive. Just a few minutes yesterday. I'm pretty sure the keeping in touch with family thing is right, whoever it is. That should be called the squeaky bed spring frog @plant pauper
