Polypodium Vulgare, follow up..

To all the nice people who answered my call for help earlier in the year re my very sick ferns, and gave me words of encouragement not to give up on them. I thought you may be interested to see them now. To refresh your memory I will post before and after shots.

It turns out that the dead part in the middle was not caused by summer heat frying them but by winter damage. This summer as you know it has been very hot and dry, these ferns have no shade they are in the middle of the garden and you can see how they are thriving.

When we put them in last year we were told that this particular variety will survive in the sun. For anyone else who would love to have ferns in their garden but have no shade this is the variety to get, you can see how healthy mine are now. The only thing is, without the winter damage they would have been 3 times as big, so next winter I will protect them from the harsh elements and hope to avoid the awful die back.  :)
