Help - crodedendron hookeranium dying?

Hi all, new to this forum and new to gardening.

In March I had a Crodedendron Hookeranium planted in a new flower bed in my garden. We had the storm with the really bad wind and then recently the heat wave. The leaves have turned brown and crisp. It looked as though it was starting to recover by producing it's red lantern buds and new green leaves however it's now gotten poorly again. Any ideas on how to bring this back?
P.s. please ignore the weeds in the flower bed.... its been a busy couple of weeks and typically raining when I have free time :)

It’s a Crinodendron, if ever you need to google it.
its been very hot and dry lately so that’s probably the problem. I cut one right down to the ground and it started to shoot out so you could try that, it’s not much good as it is at the moment.  Then give it water until we get some rain again.

They do prefer to have acid soil, so maybe it’s just not suited to your garden, try a soil test to see.
