Jasmine and Lonicera plants

I bought some Jasmine and Lonicera seedlings a few months ago.  Placed them in the greenhouse and they are now about a foot tall.  Can I plant these now in their final position or should I wait til the Autumn.  Help please!!!

If they were mine I would wait until the autumn as growing conditions are likely to be better, cooler and damper.
Do you know what sort of Jasmine it is? Some of them are less hardy than others, so it will affect where you plant them, also depending on where you live.
Where I live only the winter Jasmine is hardy, but I grow J. officinale against the back wall of my greenhouse :)

I would definitely get them out of the greenhouse. They will grow stronger if they are cooler with a bit of breeze around them.
  • Thanks thanks for the comments. I will take them out of the greenhouse but wondered when I can put them in the container to grow over my archway.

I'm assuming with the Loniceras, that you mean the climbing honeysuckles and not the shrubby types, as you want them to go on an archway, Jennifer. They don't tend to thrive very well in containers, as they like a good supply of moist ground to do well. If they get dry, they suffer from mildew and don't grow terribly well. Have you got a really big pot for them to go in?
I'd agree with the others re getting them outside, and also with what B'cupdays says about the jasmine. It's important to know what type you have, and that you have suitable climate and conditions for it. Most of them aren't hardy up here either, apart from the winter ones.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
