Can you please tell me what this plant is,and how often to water it

Hi I  bought this plant at B+Q  it says Verve on the thing. It's in a 100mm pot and it was doing well but now growth has pretty much stopped and I'm not sure how often to water it. Can anyone identify it and maybe give me a little information about it
Would be much appreciated.

"verve" is just a trade name for B&Q. I think it's some sort of dracaena
    Devon.
  • Thank you for your help. Can you tell me how often to water it and should I put it in a bigger pot?

gently knock it from the pot and have a look at the roots. If they're very matted, repot into a slightly bigger pot.
Keep the soil just damp, but never wet.

  • Thx very much

Good advice for these is not to water unless the top of the soil is dry, they don't need very much water.  I have one on my landing, fairly dark, that get's watered about once a fortnight.

I have another in my warmer, brighter conservatory that I water with a tiny amount- up to 50ml- most days.  To be honest that's probably just causing it to grow more than I desire.
  • Thank you for your help . I have mine in a window that is in the sunshine most of the day. I water it when the top soil is dry. Maybe too much. I also have nutrients in the water bottle too. Maybe I'm overdoing the watering. Maybe need a bigger pot too.
    Kind regards

Definitely needs repotting and into something bigger.  The stock soil you get won't hold moisture very well and I doubt has much nutrition either.
  • Yucca! Actually, are all Yuccas Dracenas, and vice versa?  :#

This looks like it's along the lines of the 'Lemon Lime' variety.

I have had my Dracena Elaphantipes outdoors over the past few weeks to make the most of the heatwave. It's never looked happier. They come from semi-arid conditions and love the heat - the cold damp, less so.

Do not let them get overly wet and re-pot into well-draining soil with added grit etc.
  • (BTW... If you flip that label, does it not give you further info about the plant on the other side?)

As an idea, weekly watering is pretty much the most I have ever done - in winter, maybe twice a month - and there have been no issues.

These do not generally grow fast, so do no expect any other major spurts.
