Plant ID

Can anyone tell me what these are. Planted years ago and they come back every year and I would like to get some more. Blasted right now with NE Scottish winds. They're about 4 feet.

They look like Campanula Lactiflora. You could always divide them up by digging up the roots or cut away an edge of the roots. They can be re-planted immediately somewhere else or potted up.
  • Thanks for that, was going to buy but dividing them seems more sensible. When would I divide them up, just now or wait until they stop flowering?

I would wait until they stop flowering, cut down the foliage/stems by at least half or more and start as soon as it's a little cooler and soil moist. So anytime in the next 4-6 weeks. If you do that, you will have good size plants to grow from next spring.

Mine seed themselves like mad everywhere and then come up in different shades of blue :)
  • I thought about getting seeds off them and then see if I could spread them but haven't been able to see anything that resembles seeds on them; my eyesight may not be good enough or the seeds are really little.
  • here are the pictures.

The latest pictures are hardy Geraniums, not sure which variety. The best way to propagate, is to divide them.
How can you lie there and think of England
