Plums

Have had trouble with plums in the past so am keeping a close eye on them this year, am getting rid of any showing signs of rot, but a number of them look fine but have a resin like substance oozing out. Any idea what it is ?

  • Just tried a couple, can't see anybody , but a definite track mark , could be too small to spot. Cut open one that was turning purple with brown dusty spots on it (the plum rot you told me about last year) had the same resin but darker and a definite pest inside. I assume I will have to keep checking and destroy any with signs of resin ?
