Mushrooms In A Lawn

I had a garden makeover & a new lawn laid in May this year. It established itself well but the dry spell we’ve had naturally took it’s toll. The last couple of days have brought heavy downpours of rain & this morning I’ve discovered tiny mushrooms growing. How do I get rid of them?

No need to get rid of them. They're benefitting your lawn by breaking down organic matter in the soil and making it available to the grass roots. They'll disappear as quickly as they came. If you need to mow you can sweep them off with a broom before you mow. Otherwise just enjoy the fascinating beauty of nature  :)

Thanks, Dovefromabove. I was concerned that I’d been sold poor quality turf.

Enjoy them, as Dove says - they're beneficial.  :)

I have to say your lawn looks amazing considering that you only had it laid in May: this hot weather has destroyed my lawn (to be expected - I refuse to waste water on the lawn). It must be a good quality and well cared for!

The mushrooms are nothing harmful: with this cooler, and damper, weather you'll find all sorts of things pop up in the next few weeks. It's all a sign that the garden is doing what gardens do. (i.e. if you've good soil, good conditions - weeds and such like will pop up everywhere!!)

I expect NannaP's conditions are not unlike mine, and we haven't had the extensive heat and dry conditoins for as long as those further south, which has probably helped enormously. For a large part of the long dry spell, we had single figure temps overnight and cooler through the bulk of the day.
My back grass has looked awful, because when I created it, I put tons of drainage in to counteract the high rainfall. Normally - it pays off.... ;)
Like you Clari - I haven't watered it, but the  rain in the last couple of days has brought most of it back to life   :)

I watered it from being laid every night for the first fortnight, Carlington then every other night for the next fortnight. I stopped when predictions of drought were reported & it did suffer but as Fairygirl said, the recent rain has done it’s job very quickly.
In contrast this is my front lawn 😔 I used a weed & feed on it shortly after the back lawn was laid & it’s taking longer to recover.
