Does any one know what this is? Is it a weed?

Hi All,
Could any one identify this weed/plant. Is growing in our lawn, so I'm thinking it's a weed but then looks like a climbing plant. Passion flower, sweet pea?? I have no idea, but they have started to grow in odd places in the lawn. If its a climbing plant should I remove them from the lawn and replant in borders? Please help, thank you.

passion flower. For me it's  a weed, but others cherish them.
As you can see, they do tend to move beyond where they were planted.

I love my Passion flower when it has flowers on, when it doesn’t, I hate it.

Mine smothered everything around it in masses of leaves then, if I was lucky, produced half a dozen flower.

Yeah, I had one for two years. Then last year I pruned it back due to the mass invasion of the leaves. After it had flowered and leaves turned brown. I think I might have killed it, as nothing has appeared this year regards to leaves.
But I didn't know that it could spread to the lawn. As it was growing in a border, against the fence and I would de-head as the flowers died.
@Hostafan1 how would it have seeded (if it does seed)?

it might well have survived underground and spread, then popped up in the lawn. Mowing will deal with that bit. ;)

  • Passionflower... I have one growing on a small Trellis.

This is it 3-weeks ago. It's now outgrown the Trellis!

it does indeed , but mine was 99.99% foliage and 0.001% flower which is why I ripped mine out.

I'm still fighting with one that wanted to get into the monkey puzzle tree. I'd have never been able to deal with it if it had won that battle, it would probably have encompassed the whole village by now.
