dying plants

hi folks, first timer on this site, just a quicky to say i bought some echinacea from tatton park last sunday, planted them as instructed, unfortunatly they are all dying in less than a week, any advice please. thanks, chris

    Could be many things,
    Maybe pot bound and needed the roots teasing out a bit.
    Didn't give a thorough soak to the root ball before planting
    Didn't water them in well enough
    Haven't watered since
    A photo might give a hint of cause of death

    I'd echo all of those nut - plus, not a well enough prepped planting hole, and/or in the wrong site/aspect.
    Photos - wider and close up - will help with advice, clothey  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    he he to the last comment, but sereously didnt tease the roots out, also the groung was a bit compact, know for next time, cheers guys

    Dying that quickly is probably as much down to the recent weather and its effect on the ground as anything else.  The ground would be bone dry so unless the new plants were watered well when planted and daily since I would expect them to struggle.
    Any plants I have bought in the past several weeks are still in their pots, stood in gravel trays in the shade.  The trays are half full of gravel and and I then fill them with water but don't refill until all the water is gone.  That way I avoid the risk of plants becoming waterlogged.
